Terms and Conditions Killyan Mountain Design (KMD)

Furniture

All furniture sold by KMD is vintage and may show signs of wear and tear and other age-related marks. Larger holes and damage will be repaired but otherwise these marks are part of the vintage experience.

Furniture is hand painted to a high-quality artisan finish, not a factory finish, so some brush strokes or minor imperfections may be visible.

Furniture is advertised on social media and other sales platforms so they may be removed from the website shop page without warning.

Please measure the space where the furniture is going to sit and pay close attention to the dimensions listed on the sales advert. KMD cannot be held responsible for furniture that doesn't fit when delivered.

All furniture commissions will be discussed in detail with the customer to ensure that they are happy with the colours and finishes required before commencing. Any issues brought to our attention upon collection/delivery (i.e. existing damage, woodworm etc) will be brought to the owner's attention immediately and resolved before proceeding.

Any unforeseeable additions to the quote will be advised to the client immediately and agreed by both parties. The outstanding balance is to be paid in full prior to delivery or on collection.

Written quotations are valid for 60 days from date of issue. Booking is recommended to avoid delays and disappointment.

All KMD products should be used for their intended purpose only. Please ensure your furniture is installed and secured safely in your home and where necessary anchored to a wall or floor.

Faulty or damaged goods

All furniture is checked before leaving the workshop to ensure it's in good working and decorative order. KMD is unable to accept any responsibility for it once it has left the workshop.

For items damaged in transit I require full photographs of the furniture and packaging as it is received. Any damage caused by the delivery that is discovered after unwrapping cannot be part of a damages claim. Items damaged after delivery cannot be returned but I will try to fix any damage at a reasonable cost.

If it arrives damaged you should contact the courier firm first under their insurance cover and then KMD. We will do what we can to help solve the problem.

For items damaged in transit we require full photographs of the piece and packaging as it is received. It's essential that pieces are unpacked before the courier leaves. Any damage caused by the delivery that is discovered after that point cannot be part of a damages claim.
Items damaged after delivery is accepted cannot be returned although we will endeavour to fix at a reasonable cost.

Payment terms

Items listed by KMD for sale must be paid for in full. We accept credit card and cash payments in person on collection.

Deposits or part payments on furniture currently is not available.

Commission furniture requires a 50% non-refundable deposit of the total estimated price payable before a date is booked in the commission diary with the remainder payable before the completed furniture is collected.

Delivery and returns

  • Delivery

1.1 KMD delivery

Delivery can be provided by Killyan Mountain Design. We will contact you to confirm a time and date for delivery once the purchase has been processed.

1.2 Collection

You can choose to pick up your order free of charge. We will contact you to arrange a time and date for collection once the purchase has been processed.

1.3 Your courier

If you are arranging your own courier to collect, please ensure they are insured and experienced in transporting and packing furniture. KMD does not accept responsibility for any damages or losses that happen in transit.

I wrap and pack all my furniture for shipping, but as a standard the courier should use a removals blanket and strap the furniture into the van securely.

If arranging your own courier, please note that you are accepting these terms and are completely responsible for your item the moment it is handed to the courier. Any compensation for breakages or loss should be claimed from the courier only.

2 Refunds

At KMD we produce our own line of refinished furniture which is for sale online. We also accept commissions (we work with clients to redesign and refinish their own furniture and charge for the service). Each individual piece of restored and redesigned furniture on my site has experienced a pervious life and may show signs of minor imperfection, which adds to its character and charm. KMD reserves the right to refuse refund on all sale items.

  • KMD furniture line

KMD will accept and refund non-commissioned products:

  • Within 30 days of purchase.
  • The good(s) must be unused, unopened and in the same condition you received it/them.
  • You must have proof of purchase and purchase date.
  • Please return your products to Killyan Mountain Design. If shipping the goods, KMD do not accept any liability for any damage during transit or any lost shipments.
  • The delivery fee is not refundable, and the buyer must pay to return the item.

2.2 Commissions

Please note that customised or commissioned items cannot be refunded. Custom Furniture is non-refundable unless there is a specific issue with the piece. Should you wish to discuss a refund and we feel the item is re-saleable we may issue at our discretion. The delivery fee is not refundable, and the buyer must pay to return the item.

3 Returns

Furniture may be returned at the buyer's expense. The buyer is responsible for wrapping and packing the furniture to the same standard as it was shipped to them. Refunds will only be issued once the furniture has arrived safely with KMD, no damage is found, and the furniture is still in a saleable condition.

Only the purchase cost will be refunded. The original delivery fee is non-refundable. We will notify you once we've received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you'll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

There is limited space in the workshop so furniture cannot be stored indefinitely even if it has been paid for. Items must be dispatched or collected within 7 days of purchase unless by prior agreement.

There is no charge for pickup. If you choose to pick up please contact me to arrange a date and time. Items will be loaded by Killyan Mountain Design on collection. KMD is unable to accept responsibility for items once they have left the workshop.
